Demystifying Lash Extensions - if you've been baffled by what 3D, 4D, 6D means, and which style is most suited for you - you've come to the right place. We'll start with the basics. 

1 | What are Lash Extensions?

Lash extensions are semi-permanent lashes that are applied to your natural lashes using glue, to help fill-in gaps, lengthen and thicken your natural lashes. At this point, it's important to note that eyelash extensions should never (and we mean never) be applied directly to your eyelids. Run far from lash technicians who utilize such techniques!

2 | How Long do Lash Extensions Last?

Depending on multiple factors such as your lash cycle, maintenance and care, lash extensions can last anywhere from 3-6 weeks.

3 | Am I suitable for Classic Lash Lab?

Many of us have the misconception that Classic Single lashes are the most natural - while there is some truth to that, whether or not the Classic Single works for you depends very much on your natural lashes.

Works best on: individuals with thick, full lashes - without gaps in between. 

Explained: if your natural lashes are thin and sparse, with gaps in-between, applying single lash extensions to your natural lashes would result in extensions that still look sparse post-service. Even with thicker single lashes, the gaps would not be filled, resulting in an uneven look.

4 | What is Volume Lash Lab?

Volume usually covers 2D, 3D or 4D lash extensions, or a mix. 2D means that 2 single lashes are combined by your lash technician, dipped in glue and applied to your natural lash. The glue wraps the 2 single lashes around your natural lash, allowing it to close gaps between your natural lashes and create a more even look.

A natural look with Volume is completely possible! Indicate your preference to our lash technician on the day of your service :)

Works best on: individuals with some gaps between their natural lashes.

Explained: 2 or 3 single lashes applied on each natural lash helps fill in gaps in your natural lashes. A mix of both 2D, 3D or 4D techniques are used, to achieve an even, natural look.

5 | What is Russian Volume Lash Lab?

Russian Volume usually covers 5D or 6D lash extensions, or a mix. 5D means that 5 single lashes are combined by your lash technician, dipped in glue and applied to your natural lash. The glue wraps the 5 single lashes around your natural lash, allowing it to close gaps between your natural lashes and create a more even look.

The Russian Volume look caters more to individuals looking for a more glamorous look, but natural sets can also be done! Indicate your preference to our lash technician on the day of your service :)

Works best on: individuals with more gaps between their natural lashes, that are looking for a fuller look. 

Explained: 5 or 6 single lashes applied on each natural lash helps fill in gaps in your natural lashes. A mix of both 5D and 6D techniques are used, to achieve a full, glamourous look.

6 | When should I book my Lash Lab Touch-Up?

We recommend a touch-up within 3-4 weeks of your initial Lash Lab service - please note that our Lash Lab Touch-Up pricing is only applicable within the first 3 weeks.
